Typical surge protectors require the ground line which is not always present with generator set-ups. They also cannot operate over a wide voltage range and, therefore, should not be used with standby generator power. Zero Surge’s filter technology, however, does not use the ground and incorporates Spectrum Wide Voltage Range (WVR) Technology. It was designed specifically with generator power in mind as well as the operating range of switch mode power supplies (85V-175V).
